From navigating an unfamiliar education system to seeing all four children thrive - meet our Bauhaus Education parent …
England’s education system is incredibly complicated. As a mother of four, I was doing my best to support my children's education, but I'll be honest - I didn't really understand how everything worked here.
My eldest daughter Hana wasn’t sure how to navigate her studies, especially during the pandemic. The school wasn't serving her, but I didn't know what options we had. I didn't even know you could study subjects like Chemistry privately before I found Bauhaus Education.
The relief of finding Bauhaus
Finding Bauhaus was a huge relief. From the moment we walked in, I felt so comfortable with how they welcomed us. It wasn't just about my daughter's grades - they understood that this was about her confidence, her future, her belief in what she could achieve.
Hana is my first child, so I was learning alongside her. Watching her transform from someone who'd been given a disappointing predicted grade to achieving a grade 9 in English Language - it showed me what was possible when children get the right support.
A different approach
What struck me about Bauhaus was how they treated each of my children as individuals. They didn't just follow a one-size-fits-all approach. If one of my children struggled with a topic, the tutors would break it down, use different examples, find ways to make it click.
The environment was so different from school too. My children felt heard, supported, understood. They came home excited about what they'd learned rather than defeated by what they couldn't grasp.
All four children supported
Now all four of my children have been supported by Bauhaus. Hana graduated from University of Kent with a BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science - the first in our family to attend university. Her sister received tuition and support from Bauhaus while sitting her GCSEs at her secondary school and is now studying higher education at a top school. Her other sister is now in year 12 and has been supported with her GSCSE exams while her brother is now back at Bauhaus this year, getting extra tuition to help with his GCSEs
Each child's journey has been different, but Bauhaus has met them where they are and helped them reach their potential.
More than academic success
It's not just about the grades - it's about confidence. Without this centre, none of my children would have the self-belief they have today. They've learned that their dreams aren't too big, that with the right support, anything is achievable.
It's heartbreaking that so many children from ethnic minority backgrounds aren't succeeding in mainstream school. But Bauhaus gives them the chance to show what they're really capable of. They see past barriers and focus on potential.
A family transformed
As a parent, seeing your children struggle in school is one of the most helpless feelings. You want to help, but when you don't understand the system yourself, it's overwhelming.
Bauhaus didn't just educate my children - they educated me too. They helped me understand how learning works, what my children needed, and how I could support them at home. They made me feel like a partner in my children's education, not just someone watching from the sidelines.
